TITLE:
Experiences in Operations Research
Abstract:
Operations Research (OR)
has enhanced organizations and experiences all around us, from better
scheduling of transportation and workforces, to the design of waiting lines at
theme parks. This presentation will
discuss several interesting applications of OR from recent work on
international, national and local projects.
Projects include work with government agencies, airlines, lifeboat
designers, hospitals, recruiters, furniture designers, and more. Hopefully, this presentation will peak the
interest of those individuals that like to solve problems using mathematics,
statistics, and computers to consider an exciting career in OR.
