The purpose here is
to discuss global existence and the blow-up of solutions to ![]()
in high space
dimensions. We derive the small data global existence for Cauchy problem of the
equation in 5-dimensional space with a weighted
-norm. Sideris has proved that for n
and ![]()
, where ![]()
is a critical
exponent, the solutions blow up in finite time. But the proof needs many
complicated properties of special functions. We show that estimating the wave
front using elementary inequalities can derive the same result.
