 Biological Sciences Department - College of Arts and Sciences The Department of Biological Sciences offers bachelor's degrees in Applied Biology, Biology, and Biotechnology, as well as, associate degrees in Ornamental Horticulture and Pre-Optometry. The Applied Biology Program offers the flexibility to pursue a program of study in preparation for a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy and environmental biology. A Biology Education major is offered in the College of Education and Human Services. Several Forensic Biology courses are offered in support of the Forensic minor in Criminal Justice. All the research and teaching labs were renovated in 1997 as part of a $31 million Arts and Sciences project. A new greenhouse has been added to serve the expanding needs of the ornamental technology program. The Card Wildlife Education Center serves as an educational resource for Ferris students, K-12 school children, and members of the Michigan community. The Biological Sciences Institute offers a series of workshops for high school students and teachers throughout the year.
