VALUES

As a community member, the University, its faculty, staff and students, should be sitting "at the table" together with its neighbors sharing ideas and sweat in an effort to build a better future for the wider community and society.  The academic endeavors of universities are often seen as distant, lofty and separate from the every day concerns of the people living in the shadows of its architecture.  The community surrounding the university offers immense opportunities for insight that academicians and students crave in their pursuit of knowledge.  At the same time the university is often has innumerable resources that are inaccessible to even its closest neighbors.  We at the institute believe that collaboration with members of our surrounding community is our civic duty.
