Pre-Program Advising - College of Allied Health Sciences

STUDENT SUPPORT FOR PRE-PROGRAM ADVISINGStudents admitted to one of the clinical programs in the College of Allied Health are initially accepted into the pre-professional portion of the program. Once you meet the qualifying requirements of your program you will be required to make application to the professional sequence. This is done January 15th through January 30th for all our programs (except for the Accelerated Nursing Program, that application time is August 1st through August 15th). You apply during your spring semester, but you need to refer to the “Qualification Checklist for Application” of your program to verify when the prerequisite courses must be completed in order for you to apply. When looking at classes to register, follow the "curriculum plan" for your program as well as the "qualification checklist." Both are found on the Ferris web page under College of Allied Health Sciences http://www.ferris.edu/htmls/colleges/alliedhe/link_desc.cfm?LinkID=64
- Curriculum Plan - lists the courses you need to take, throughout your program.
- Qualification Checklist - lists the courses required to get into your professional sequence classes.
To get into your professional sequence classes, make sure you are taking the prerequisites needed to make you qualify.
Make sure you are aware of the prerequisites for your class. This can be found in the college catalog under the course description.

GROUP ADVISING SCHEDULE FOR SPRING REGISTRATION

The following sessions are required for each student enrolled in a “pre” program prior to your registration day. Registration begins on November 2nd, advising holds will be applied to each student until you have attended a group advising session. At these sessions, we will also sign up for science sections for the upcoming Spring semester. We will review the upcoming application process for the professional sequence of the programs for the College of Allied Health.
