Established Scholarships and Endowments

Donors establish scholarships to honor the memory and achievements of family and friends or to express their appreciation for the educational experiences they received at Ferris and/or to the profession that has permitted the achievement of career and personal success. Here are some examples of scholarships and endowments:
  • Ferris State University professor Ed Brayton and his wife, Mary established the Alton "Andy" and Evelyn Brayton Memorial Annual Scholarship to support senior students in the Construction Technology and Management program. The endowment was established in honor of his parents, as his father was a contractor in the Lansing area for over 25 years.

  • Patricia Gabriel established the Dr. Earl D. Gabriel Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund in memory of her husband. Second-year students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services benefit from her generous gift.

  • Hockey athletes will benefit from an endowment established by Ferris Varsity Hockey Coach Bob Daniels and his wife Leslie. Recipients must be dedicated to the success of the hockey program and display the desire to constantly improve their playing abilities. The amount of the scholarship will cover 25 percent of the cost of two semesters of tuition and fees.
