The 1960s
Richard Tuttle (P'62), Spring Lake, Mich., recently retired after 38 years as a pharmacist for Dykstra Drug Store in Holland.


Timothy Bazzett (AS'67), Reed City, Mich., has published, Soldier Boy: At Play in the ASA, a sequel to his first book of memoirs Reed City Boy. For ordering information, a peek at the covers and sample passages, visit www.rathole.com/soldierboy.

Jacqueline Turner Banks'(AS'72), Sacramento, Calif., fourth book in her "posse" series was released in paperback in May 2005. The novel, A Day for Vincent Chin and Me, concerns a sixth-grade student whose mother is planning a rally in honor of Vincent Chin, a young man killed in a hate crime in Detroit.


Walter Sisler (T'72, EHS'74), Flat Rock, Mich., recently retired after serving 19 years as a welding instructor at Flat Rock High School.


Jean (McTaggart) Norton (B'75), Port Hope, Mich., recently received the 2005 Hearst Newspapers Marketing Excellence Award. Norton is an advertising executive for the Huron Daily Tribune in Bad Axe.

Kenneth G. Lawless (B'78), Portland, Mich., was recently named vice president/chief operating officer and part owner of Clark Construction Company. Clark Construction Company was founded in 1946 and is ranked as one of the top 100 CM firms in the nation by Engineering News Record. The firm has offices in Lansing and Petoskey with projects throughout Michigan.

Edward Tyniw (AHS'79), Winter Springs, Fla., is a respiratory therapist at Florida Hospital Altomonte Springs. He and his wife, Keron, have a daughter, Courtney.

The 1980s
Timothy Wenzel (P'80), Frankenmuth, Mich., was recently promoted to human resources director for Covenant HealthCare.


Mary (Doyle) Newbold (AHS'81), White Lake, Mich., is office manager for Oakland Gastroenterology Assoc., P.C. in Oakland. She and her husband, Gary, have a son attending MSU and a daughter attending Ferris.


Susan (Douglas) MacGregor (B'82), Negaunee, Mich., was recently promoted from associate to principal in the Marquette law office of Kitch Drutchas.


Michael Bacigalupo (AHS'84), Bay City, Mich., was recently recognized as Optician of the Year by the Opticians Association of Michigan and the Opticians Association of America.


Roy Walker (B'86), Hilliard, Ohio, has been appointed director of human resources for the Hilliard City School District.


Brian Schoenborn (AHS'87), Conklin, Mich., wed Patricia Bynoe of Mackinaw Island.


Thomas Coffman (B'88), Myrtle Beach, S.C., is the internship director of the Professional Golf Management program at Coastal Carolina University.

Kristi Johnson (B'89) Kristi Johnson (B'89), Horton, Mich., writes, "My husband, Steven G. Johnson (O'92) and I, delivered our oldest of nine children, Brooke Johnson, two months premature the night prior to my husband's interview to be accepted into the College of Optometry. Brooke is now 17 years old and enrolled Fall 2005 in Pre-Med at Ferris in the Honors Program. Steven has his private practice in Jackson, and I work for the federal government out of our lakefront home. Brooke plans to become an Ophthalmologist and have her father, brothers and possibly sisters work for her!"

Dennis Hansen (B'91), Ft. Wayne, Ind., wed Christy Hamilton of Hastings, Minn.


Andrew Pozniak (B'91), Alpena, Mich., wed Cheryl Jasman, also of Alpena.


Scott Warnke (T'91), Temperance, Mich., was appointed survey office manager for G.B. Warnke & Associates in Temperance.


Susan (Ward) Clow (AHS'92), Saulte Ste. Marie, Mich., was recently recognized by Brimley High School with a Distinguished Alumna Award.


Eddie Kindle, Jr. (EHS'92), Kimball, Mich., is a physical education teacher and varsity football coach at Port Huron High School.

Gordon Kokx (AHS'92), Twin Falls, Idaho, was recently honored with the College of Southern Idaho's Teacher of the Year Award. CSI hired Kokx in 2000 to design, implement and manage the first public college-based paramedic program in Idaho's history. He serves as associate professor and paramedic program manager at CSI. Martin Szymczak (B'92) and Heather (White) Szymczak (AS'91), Chandler, Ariz., announce the birth of their daughter, Paige Juliet, who arrived in time to help celebrate her parent's 15th wedding anniversary in May 2005.


Eric Weeks (B'92), Rochester Hills, Mich., and his wife, Rosa, announce the birth of their son, Aric Martin Weeks, in April 2005.

Steve Vachon (P’93) Steve Vachon (P'93), Ada, Mich., and wife, Jamie, welcomed new addition Jack Anthony Lee on May 12, 2005. Jack was adopted from South Korea and was born on Dec. 7, 2004. Brother Andrew and sisters Sydney and Taylor welcomed him home. Steve won the blanket Jack is playing on at Ferris' Alumni Golf Outing at Egypt Valley.

Rob Byrd, (EHS'94), Grand Rapids, Mich., senior producer/director of WGVU-TV, was awarded a coveted Local Michigan EMMY Award for Multi Camera Field Directing for "Hope College Christmas Vespers 2004." He received the honor in June at the National Television Academy-Michigan Chapter's 27th annual Awards Gala held at Detroit's Ford Field.

Susan Nemitz (AHS'95), Mt. Clemens, Mich., was recently appointed director of emergency services at St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb.


Matt Doolittle (T'95) and Jennifer (Clark) Doolittle (B'97), Lake City, Mich., announce the birth of their daughter, Brooke Caroline. Brooke was welcomed home by big sister, Laura.


Christine (Dilg) Perkett (B'96), Marshfield, Mass., is president and founder of PerkettPR, Inc., with offices in Boston, Detroit and San Francisco.

Richard Chouinard, II (T'98), Sterling Heights, Mich., recently received a Master's of Science in Management from Walsh College of Accountancy in Troy.


Shawn Mortensen (T'98), Burlington, Iowa, has been promoted to plant superintendent for PPG Industries in Burlington. His wife, Char-Lin (Kidd) (AHS'98), is a billing coordinator for Great River Oncology.


Todd Rentfrow (AS'99), White Pigeon, Mich., wed Stefanie Payne of Whitehall.


Keith Moulds (O'99) and Jenny (Losinski) Moulds (P'97), Rockford, Mich., welcomed their second daughter, Kayla Ann, on June 23, 2005. She joins big sister McKenna.

James Dube (B'01), Reading, Penn., wed Jennifer Gownley in June of 2004. They welcomed their first child, James Carl, Feb. 12, 2005.


Mark Horton (P'01), St. Johns, Mich., wed Maria Iwanow of Midland.

Nathan and Courtney Taylor (T'01 and EHS'00), Britton, Mich., welcomed son Matthew Ferris Taylor, born March 2, 2005 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. Nathan and Courtney Taylor (T’01 and EHS’00)

Cory Anderson (EHS'02), Big Rapids, Mich., wed Robyn Sicard also of Big Rapids. Anderson is the assistant men's basketball coach for Ferris.


Cynthia Horn (EHS'02), Reed City, Mich., was recently appointed director of Student Leadership & Activities at Ferris State University.


Alan Rydman (T'02), Nellis AFB, Nev., is a flight engineer for the Air Force flying on HH-60G PaveHawk helicopters, performing combat search and rescue. He returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan in February 2005.

Kelda Barnum (B’03) and Pete Rericha (B’04) Kelda Barnum (B'03) and Pete Rericha (B'04), Portland, Ore., were married July 23, 2005 in Stanwood, Mich. Kelda works for Edelman Public Relations, and Pete is an assistant golf professional at Portland Golf Club.

Jason LaHaie (EHS'04), Cheboygan, Mich., is an officer for the Mackinac Island Police Department.


Nicole Foco (T'04), Auburn, Mich., was recently crowned Miss Auburn-Midland 2005-06 and will represent the area in the Miss Michigan Pageant in June 2006 in Muskegon.


Ernan Paredes (B'04), Bay City, Mich., recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif.


Lindsay Resky (P'04), Byron, Mich., wed Mark Schwalbach of Swartz Creek.


Brian DuRussel (B'05), Bay City, Mich., married Renee Dugan, also of Bay City, on July 2, 2005. Brian is employed at Padgett Mechanical Services. They reside in Huntersville, N.C.
