New PTM Director Draws Upon Ferris, USPTA Ties
Tom
Daglis is the new program director/facility manager for the Professional
Tennis Management program, taking over from R.J. Tessier who accepted
a position with the United States Professional Tennis Association as
their director of certification in Houston, Texas.
Both
Tessier’s and Daglis’ new positions build upon a close relationship
that exists between Ferris’ PTM program and the USPTA. Currently,
Daglis serves as vice president of the USPTA national board; while at
Ferris, Tessier was a member of the Midwest USPTA Board. The 75-year-old
USPTA is the world’s oldest and largest association of tennis-teaching
professionals with more than 12,500 members worldwide.
“The
USPTA and Ferris can work together even more closely in the future,
and I’m sure R.J. will have a great influence for us at the national
headquarters,” said Scott Schultz, associate vice president for
Ferris Auxiliary Enterprises.
In
addition to his USPTA duties, Daglis most recently was president of
Peachtree Tennis Promotions Inc., in Atlanta, Ga.
