Maurice Q. Bectel (P'60), Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Medic Alert.

John W. West (P'60), Holland, a consultant pharmacist with the Pharmacy Group Practice Associates in Okemos, has received the 1998 Joe Oddis Leadership Award from the Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP).

Kay L. (Leckrone) Bullock (B'62), Owosso, has joined the RE/MAX family of realtors in Owosso.

Larry F. Staffen (T'64), Stanwood, has retired after 34 years of doing engineering and surveying work for the city of Big Rapids.

Kenneth D. Bartholomew (B'66), Paw Paw, has been named director of dining services at Western Michigan University.

Martin L. Heger (B'67), Carmel, Ind., is president and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, Ind.

James N. McLean (B'67), Ada, is the new president of Meijer Inc., overseeing 117 stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. He has been with Meijer for the past 12 years.

Douglas J. Smentkowski (B'69), Ada, has been reappointed as the Missouri State Chair of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for a third year.

Judy E. (Sitler) Yevtich (H'69), Fountain Hills, Ariz., is the Clinical Dental Hygiene Instructor at Rio Salado Community College.

Ed Knuth (B'70), Bismarck, N.D., a real estate broker with Oaktree Realtors, is the 1998 president of the North Dakota Association of Realtors.

Paul R. Phelps (E'70), White Lake, owner of Community Investment Services, Inc., has established two new companies, Community Stained Glass, Inc., and Phelps Pizza, in Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills.

George P. Woodward (B'70), Alashua, Fla., celebrated his 10th anniversary as owner and operator of City Boys Tire and Brake in High Springs, Fla.

Robert G. Redoutey (T'71), Round Rock, Texas, has been with Dell Computer Corporation in the Regulatory Compliance Department for 8 years. He has just been given responsibility to oversee the Regulatory Test Lab.

Steven C. Bennett (B'73), East Jordan, will be acting as school administrator, as well as teaching math classes, at Northwest Academy.

Karen A. (Woods) Miron (P'74), Escanaba, owner of ElderCare Pharmacy, has been named by the Delta County Business and Professional Women's Club as the non-member Outstanding Woman of the Year.

Jane L. (Feeney) Lambert (B'75), Columbus, Ind., has been named director of student services for the Indiana University Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI).

Gary L. Tipton (B'75), St. Joseph, has been named new Vice President and Creative Director at Perry Ballard Inc.

Martin E. Trombley (E'75), Mt. Pleasant, has been appointed Dean of Contracted and Continuing Education at Mid-Michigan Community College.

Stanley D. Bien (B'77), Lansing, has been assigned as Director, W.I.C. Vendor Management & Operations at the Michigan Department of Community Health in Lansing.

Dean L. Gauthier (T'78), Novi, has graduated from the General Dealership Management Program of the National Automobile Dealers Association Management Academy. He has been the general manager of Dick Genthe Chevrolet for two years.

Julianne (Gabier) Wiles (E'79), Ionia, was named Eaton County Family Independence Agency volunteer services coordinator for Barry and Eaton counties.

Stephen Burgess (B'81), Howell, was named manager for market development for AAA Michigan at the company's corporate headquarters in Dearborn.

Kim D. (Rodesiler) Miller (B'81), Union City, has been chosen as 1998 Citizen of the Year.

Jerome W. Tracey (B'81), Alpena, has been promoted to vice president of National City Bank of Michigan/Illinois.

Brian F. Barry (AS'82), Saginaw, has accepted the position of center manager for Delphi Rehabilitation Work Fit Division.

Jeffrey J. Diegel (B'82), Northville, has been promoted from Vice President to Executive Vice President for CDI Information Services in Northville.

Todd Hook (P'82), is now operations manager for all three locations of Ehardt's Pharmacies in Croswell, Lexington, and Port Sanilac.

Lyndon Johnson (AH'83), is the new Director of Services with the Aging for Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, one of the largest nonprofit agencies in southeast Michigan.

Michael L. Worden (B'83), Traverse City, has joined The Honor State Bank as the chief financial officer.

John G. Hales (T'84), Columbus, Ohio, has been appointed as a customer service representative at The Hamblin Company in Tecumseh.
