As Tevye shouted in "Fiddler on the Roof," Tradition!
"Fiddler on the Roof" was this year's play for our annual
"Ferris Night at the Theater" in Grand Rapids, and I am still
humming the music from the performance. It was wonderful to see so many
of you there; I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
Coincidentally, this issue of Crimson & Gold is all about traditions
at Ferris State University. In keeping with that theme, I'd like to thank
each and every one of you who have contributed so much to keeping FSU traditions
alive throughout the years. You are the Ferris torchbearers, keeping the
flame burning and handing it down through the generations. Who better to
sustain the institution's heritage than our family of alumni?
Two examples of our alumni giving their time and abilities in support
of Ferris State are the Alumni Assistance with Recruitment and |

Marketing (AARM) and the Alumni Career Services Network. The active volunteerism
in these organizations assists students through career readiness seminars,
reaching out to prospective students through high school college fairs and
telecounseling and supporting the continuing success of FSU alumni. My sincere
thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in these organizations.
We have many traditional Alumni events this spring and summer, including
the Alumni Spring Reunion and Distinguished Alumni and Pacesetter Alumni
Awards Banquet, the Alumni Golf Outing at Treetops Sylvan Resort and our
reception for the Muskegon Air Fair.
As always, you have an open invitation to contact my office to discover
how your time and talent can benefit your alma mater.
