1980s

Steve Hillebrand ('83), Ypsilanti,
Mich., recently returned from a one-year tour of duty as an
Army Military Intelligence major with the 18th Airborne Corps
in Afghanistan where he was awarded the Bronze Star medal for
meritorious service. Married with four children and a FedEx
Operations Manager in civilian life, he was an Army reservist
when recalled to active duty.

two books, Reed City Boy and Soldier Boy: At Play in the ASA.
Jerry Glidewell (B'67), Rochester Hills, Mich., recently
retired from Clawson Public Schools after 36 years of teaching business
education for 22 years and science for 14 years.
Thomas Taylor (T'67), Nashville, Mich., wed Julia
Farrer of Kalamazoo.
William Brinker (K'68), Saginaw, Mich., recently
participated in the Saginaw Winter Arts Fest showcasing more than
20 pieces of his artwork.
Linda Meeuwenberg (AH'68, EHS'78), Stanwood, Mich.,
was recently selected as an opinion leader Gillette - Oral B division.
Meeuwenberg is a professor of dental hygiene at Ferris and her selection
is a prestigious recognition of her accomplishments by the dental
industry. Sixty individuals from around the world were invited to
participate in a symposium in Las Vegas.
1970s
James DeWildt (K'71), Traverse City, Mich., recently
illustrated Anne Margaret Lewis' children's book entitled Hidden Pumpkins.
This is the second book by Lewis that DeWildt has illustrated. Hidden
Cherries was released in 2004 and was chosen as the official children's
book of the National Cherry Festival.
Donna (Peplinski) Schleicher (formerly Driskell) (EHS'73),
Ypsilanti, Mich., retired from North Branch Area Schools in 2004 after
31 years of teaching mathematics. Also in 2004 she married Lee Schleicher
of Ypsilanti.
James Duthie (EHS'76), Mason, Mich., was recently
honored as the City of Mason's 2005 Employee of the Year.
Daniel Cook (T'73,'78), Flint, Mich., has been appointed
senior pressmen at Kettering University in Flint.
Linda Hayes (AHS'79), Quinnesec, Mich., recently
accepted a position as branch manager for Marquette General Home Health
and Hospice in Kingsford.
Mario Russo (B'79), Atlanta, Ga., was recently promoted
to national accounts director of sales for the Dixie Foodservice business
at Georgia Pacific.
Douglas Wenger (B'79), Richfield, Ohio, was named
CIO of the Year by the Northeast Ohio Software Association at its
annual CIO Symposium in November 2005. Wenger is chief information
officer for Omnova Solutions in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Frederick Driscoll (B'80), Lafayette, La., was recently
named assistant vice president, senior risk manager at The Hartford
Insurance Company in Hartford, Conn.
John Persky (B'82), La Grange, Ky., has accepted
a position with Genlyte-Thomas Lighting in the national accounts division
in Louisville.
Robert Tosch (T'82), Rogers City, Mich., and his
wife, April, announce the birth of their daughter, Mallary Olivia.
John Andersen (B'83), Southfield, Mich., was recently
elected president of the Michigan Promotional Products Association.
MIPPA is a professional organization of suppliers and distributors
in the promotional products industry. Anderson is the sales manager
at Admore, a leading manufacturer of presentation folders, in Macomb.
He has been with the company for 17 years.
Deborah Burch (EHS'83, '93), Stevensville, Mich.,
was recently honored by the American Dental Assistant Association
with the 2005 John O. Butler Pride Award.
Michael Johnson (O'83), Dayton, Ohio, is a colonel
in the United States Air Force and was recently awarded the Bronze
Star for Meritorious Achievement for his service as commander of the
506th Expeditionary Medical Squadron in Kirkuk, Iraq.
Laura (Ceterski) Patterson (AHS'86), Mason, Mich.,
and her husband, Michael, announce the birth of their son, Timothy
Michael, in June 2005.
Jeffrey McCauley (AS'87), Grand Haven, Mich., was
recently promoted to the position of director of IT and Telecommunications
for JSJ Corporation and its subsidiary, GHSP.
LTC David Morris (AS'87), Bellevue, Mich., received
the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, the Global War on
Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terror Service
Medal for actions as an A-10 pilot in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
LTC Timothy Ringquist (T'87), Holland, Mich., has
received the Meritorious Service Medal, four Air Medals, the Global
War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terror
Service Medal for actions as an A-10 pilot in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom.

with the Pontiac Police Department, was named Officer of the Year

were married in 1994 and have two sons, Jacob and Joshua.

has been named director of cardiovascular services at Mount Clemens
General Hospital.

Barbara Horn (O'98), Washington, Mich., has been
elected secretary-treasurer for the Michigan Optometric Association.
Horn also was honored with the Young Optometrist of the Year award
and the Keyperson award for significant contributions to the association
and profession of optometry. In addition to her service at the state
level, she is chair of the Information and Member Services Group Executive
Committee of the American Optometric Association.

and her husband, David, announce the birth of their daughter, Kendall

Mighty Ducks. He recently scored twice in regulation and had the only
goal in a shootout to give the Ducks a victory over the St. Louis
