C. Douglas Day (B'64), Newaygo, Mich., retired from SandMold Systems as vice president of finance in February 2004 after nearly 32 years with the company. Jean (Pearce) Tata (B'61), Byron, Mich. wed Ray Dodge, also of Byron. Jean recently retired from GM Service Parts Operations with 31 years of service. Lynn Fetterman (B'63), Lake Odessa, Mich., recently sold his accounting firm to Walker, Fluke & Sheldon of Hastings. Fetterman Accounting was established in 1984. Richard Bishop (T’64), Bay City, Mich., was recently elected Bangor Township Board Trustee. He also announces his first grandchild, Kemeny.
Roger Elkins (EHS'67), Evart, Mich., was appointed Evart City Manager on March 1, 2004. Robyn (Bitterling) Gorringe (AH'67), Sandusky, Mich., was recently honored as the 2004 Citizen of the Year by the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce. Glenn Kebler (T'67, '87) (E'69), Six Lakes, Mich., was recently recognized as Cooperator of the Year by Montcalm County Conservation District. Kebler, also a professor at Ferris, retired in 1995. William Rasmussen (AS'68), Traverse City, Mich., recently authored a book entitled Corroborating Evidence, published by Sunstone Press. The book identifies the killer of the Black Dahlia and establishes a connection between the murder of Elizabeth Short and the Cleveland Torso Murders. The book is available at Amazon.com. Scott Render (B'68), San Jose, Calif., recently retired as chief executive officer of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the Red Cross. Dennis Hines (B'70), Rochester Hills, Mich., recently retired from AAA of Michigan. He and his wife Kathy will travel to Honduras for a mission trip through Kensington Community Church. Paul Phelps (E'70), White Lake, Mich., recently retired as President/CEO of Community Investment Services, Inc. Phelps is still active in Community Stained Glass, Inc. and owns two pizza franchise stores in White Lake. Frederick (Rick) Dryzga (B'71), Bay City, Mich., recently retired as director of Bay County Health Department where he served for 30 years. Avon (Ghassemi) Burns (AS'75), Flint, Mich., was recently selected for special recognition on the Michigan State University's School of Criminal Justice Wall of Fame. Burns holds a master's degree in criminal justice from MSU and is a professor at Mott Community College. Mary Ann Noud (B'75, '78), Bradenton, Fla., recently graduated from the College of Law at Stetson University, St. Petersburg, Fla. She passed the Florida Bar Exam in July of 2004. James Williams (EHS'75), Big Rapids, Mich., recently retired after 32 years of service at Ferris State's Department of Safety. Terrence Gohl (T'84), Dearborn Heights, Mich., has joined Tower Automotive Inc. as vice president of North American operations. Charles Shermetaro (O'84), Clinton Township, Mich., owns St. Clair Eye Clinic in Shelby Township.
Terri (Bazzett) Lasby (EHS '85, '94), Gaylord, Mich., was recently elected as president elect of the Michigan Business Education Association with her term of office beginning Jan. 1, 2005. Dale Benish (B'87), Sandusky, Mich., was recently appointed the 2005 Honorary United Way Chair for Sanilac County. Jeffrey (T'87) and Cherrie (Young) (B'88) Selk, Allendale, Mich., have new twin sons. Chandler and Peyton were welcomed home by their sisters Alivia and Ellory and brother Nolan. Robert Bischer (B'92) is the owner/operator of Bobby B's Pizza place in his home town of Onaway, Mich. He and his wife AnneMarie (Weber) have two daughters, Jordan Marie and Rachel Heather. Joseph Kurnik, II (T'92, EHS'97), Kent City, Mich., wed Leslie Loef, also of Kent City. Kimberly (Prebay) Scherer (P'92), Scottsdale, Ariz., and her husband Jeff recently welcomed their second set of twins. Easton William and Corinne Kimberly join big sisters, Olivia and Camille. Thomas Bertram (EHS'93), Jackson, Mich., was appointed Chief of Police for Leoni Township in August 2004. John Bryant (AS'93), Munith, Mich., recently received the Pfizer Global Research and Development Achievement Award for cardiovascular pharmacology innovation for designing a device to pierce the lids on Remp plates to access solvated compounds. Mary Luchies (EHS'93), Big Rapids, Mich., has been appointed director of early childhood education at Baker College in Cadillac. Carl Moore (T'93), Grand Blanc, Mich., married Ann Newcomer of Monroe. Tracy Gurniak (B'94), Grand Blanc, Mich., married John Poirier IV, also of Grand Blanc. Pablo Olvera (EHS'94), Saginaw, Mich., recently received the 2004 Delta College Hispanic Alumni of the Year Award. Kenneth Adamski (B'95) and his wife Beth, Muskegon, Mich. announce the birth of their son, Matthew James. John Crowell (EHS'95), Ravenna, Mich., has been called to active duty with the United States Army National Guard. He is a business teacher and girls track coach at Ravenna High School. Eric Foco (B'95) and his wife Katie, Rhodes, Mich., welcomed their first child, Levi Meier Foco, in March 2004. Terry Simpson (B'95), Commerce Township, Mich., was recently promoted to regional vice president of Atwell-Hicks, Inc. of Ann Arbor. John Tillotson (P'95), Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Ph.D. in Industrial Pharmacy. John and his wife Maria (Carrillo) (B'94, '96) have two daughters, Andrea and Isabella. John recently accepted a position as CEO of P&T Pharma in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Maria will serve as CFO for the company. Sean (B'95) Weber and his wife, Jennifer, Lapeer, Mich., celebrated the birth of their second child, Andrew Preston in August 2004. Melissa Prusi (AH'96) wed James Neering (B'96) in October 2000. They recently welcomed their first child, daughter Larkin. The Neerings reside in Saginaw, Mich. Michael Travis (EHS'96 and '00), Stanwood, Mich., has been appointed principal of Lakeview High School in Lakeview. Denise Dorato (AH'97), Muskegon, Mich., married Oscar Carcamo of Baton Rouge, La. Wayne Giles (B'97), Marysville, Mich., is the manager of Pompeii's Pizzeria and Italian Eatery in Port Huron. Jason Mitchell (B'97), Grand Rapids, Mich., has been promoted to manager at the Grand Rapids practice of BDO Seidman, LLP. Cory Anderson (B'98), Sanford, Mich., was recently appointed to a position as executive assistant to Brian Stadler, president of Wolgast Corporation. Carla (Reynolds) Feamster (EHS'98) and her husband Greg, Linden, Mich., announce the birth of their second child, Gregory John. Carla was recently promoted to the position of school resource officer. Renee (Reichardt) Koski (P'98) and her husband Jared, Ishpeming, Mich., recently had their second child, daughter Jillian Marie Koski. Jillian joins her older sister, Madelyn Renee.
