Fellow
Bulldog Alumni,
Have the questions, “What do you want?”
or “How can I help you?” ever caught you off-guard? Many of
us find ourselves asking these questions in an effort to improve, enhance
or validate our professional and personal goals. The time has come for
the Alumni Association to do the same.
Through Sept. 26, the Association will be conducting
a survey of our graduates’ interests and expectations. We invite
you to click on and make us aware of how we can help you establish or
maintain your involvement with Ferris State.
We respect your time and value your input. The survey
is only 17 questions and takes less than five minutes to complete. By
completing the survey you will be entered into a drawing for
- Tickets
for you and five of your friends to attend a Ferris State Football or
Hockey game in the President’s Box.
-
Senior Night Hockey package for four (includes hockey game tickets for
the final home game, promotional items and parking).
- One
entry into the 2004 Alumni Association Golf Outing at Egypt Valley Country
Club, Grand Rapids.
- Various
items of Alumni and Bulldog sports apparel.
For
those who need or would prefer to complete a printed survey, please contact
our office at 888-FSU-DOGS (378-3647).
At long last, the Year of the Bulldog has arrived! No,
you won’t find its attributes listed on a calendar or placemat,
but you can participate in all the activities slated for Homecoming 2003,
“Year of the Bulldog,” the weekend of October 17-18 (schedule
listed on page 39). You can also help write University history by casting
your vote to “officially” name the Bulldog mascot throughout
the week of Homecoming at www.ferrisalumni.org and clicking on the Homecoming
banner. The bulldog has been Ferris State’s mascot since the 1930s.
University lore holds that the bulldog was once named “Governor”
in honor of Woodbridge Ferris, although that label has since faded. The
new name will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming game when the
mascot will be presented with a new team jersey emblazoned with that name.
We are making plans to conduct our 6th annual Backpack
to Briefcase Alumni Campus Speaker Series this fall and winter. If you
are interested in returning to Ferris State to discuss with students your
professional experiences, perspectives on career preparedness and the
realities of entering the workplace, please contact our office today at
888-FSU-DOGS (378-3647) or e-mail: alumni_office@ferris.edu.
Finally, on behalf of Bulldog Alumni everywhere, the
Alumni Association welcomes the 17th President of Ferris State University,
Dr. David Eisler. I continue to look forward to meeting and working with
all of you as we begin this new chapter in the history of our alma mater.
Sincerely,

Jeremy
