Spring
Reunion 2002
On
Thursday, May 9, alumni gathered at the Holiday Inn in Big Rapids for
the Spring Reunion Banquet 2002.
Returning
alumni gathered early to mingle, reminisce and renew old friendships.
The
evening formally began with an invocation by Father Wayne D. Wheeler,
Jr., of St. Paul’s Campus Parish.
After
dinner, Alumni Association Director Jeremy Mishler offered welcoming
remarks. President William Sederburg, Board of Trustees Chair R. Thomas
Cook and Alumni Association President Kevin Cross also addressed alumni.
The
classes of 1957, 1962 and 1977 were then recognized.
After
the induction of the newest Golden Eagles (Class of ‘52), returning
Golden Eagles were recognized, the John and Sue Bradac Above and Beyond
Award was given to Robert Purtee and William Wolbrink, and the Pacesetter
and Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented.
Next
year’s Spring Reunion will also have its milestones. Plan on being
in Big Rapids when the University will mark the 150th anniversary of
the birth of its founder, Woodbridge N. Ferris.
