Gant Named Special Assistant to
Ferris State President
University
Director of Minority Student Affairs Raymond Gant has been named special
assistant to the president. Gant will advise the president on matters
of diversity and serve as a liaison to campus and community groups on
issues pertaining to diversity and multiculturalism.
Gant
has been with Ferris State since 1984. In 1986 he founded the Office
of Minority Student Affairs, which continues to coordinate programs
and activities offered to assist students with their transition to campus.
Gant
has served on dozens of committees at Ferris State and was a member
of the University Alumni Board of Directors for several years. He was
involved in the establishment of several scholarship programs and continues
to work closely with the Office of Admissions. In his new capacity,
Gant will coordinate a campus-wide diversity plan, working closely with
faculty and staff to assist the president in guiding Ferris’ diversity
efforts.
