Gant Named Special Assistant to Ferris State President
University Director of Minority Student Affairs Raymond Gant has been named special assistant to the president. Gant will advise the president on matters of diversity and serve as a liaison to campus and community groups on issues pertaining to diversity and multiculturalism.
Gant has been with Ferris State since 1984. In 1986 he founded the Office of Minority Student Affairs, which continues to coordinate programs and activities offered to assist students with their transition to campus.
Gant has served on dozens of committees at Ferris State and was a member of the University Alumni Board of Directors for several years. He was involved in the establishment of several scholarship programs and continues to work closely with the Office of Admissions. In his new capacity, Gant will coordinate a campus-wide diversity plan, working closely with faculty and staff to assist the president in guiding Ferris’ diversity efforts.
