Life Magazine Features Ferris Professor
Professor of Biology Robert Friar received national attention for his expertise in the physiology of love. Dr. Friar, who teaches Human Sexuality and Physiology, appeared in Life Magazine and The Washington Post.

Friar was interviewed by Life Magazine and quoted in its February cover story "The Science of Love." The article focused on the last decade's discoveries in neuroscience (the study of the nervous system) and how those discoveries led to understanding the physiology of sexual attraction.

"At present, our knowledge of neuroscience is doubling every two and a half years," Friar said in the article. "That means that in the last two and a half years we have learned more than all prior humans about the workings of the brain."
