Imagine More…
Imagine Ferris in the years 2034. How will it be different from the Ferris campus and community celebrating today? If you could put Ferris "in a capsule" and send it forward in time, what would you include? The 125th time capsule is looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to serve on the committee and assist with the selection of items for the time capsule. If you are interested, please contact Melinda Isler at islerm@ferris.edu.
Guidelines
The College Office Girls constitution, brochures advertising baseball and wrestling, Round Lake report from the Environmental Studies Management Center…. What do all these items have in common? All are items placed in the 1984 Centennial time capsule whose organizations no longer are active in the campus community.
How will Ferris change before the opening of the 125th time capsule in 2034? What items can be put in that truly capture Bulldog spirit? All organizations and individuals are free to submit items which will be reviewed by the committee.
Items must be received by April 20th, 2010 but may be dropped off at the University Archives in Alumni 101, beginning on September 1st, 2009. Please include a donor name and address, and title for the item. Items not chosen for inclusion into the capsule will be returned after May 1st, 2010. The time capsule will be sealed after the end of the academic year.
Certain items are not eligible for inclusion into the capsule including materials which contain: fur, flesh, hair, bone, glass, electric or battery operated items, microfilm, and film. Keep in mind that materials on flash drives may not be readable in the future!
Apart from these few simple restrictions, we invite the Ferris community to imagine and dream about what is Ferris?
