Helen's Garden

Helen's Garden Groundbreaking

According to tributes from her friends and family at her memorial in 1917, Helen Gillespie Ferris loved flowers, trees and nature. On September 8, 2009, at 11 a.m., we will begin a very special project to honor Helen's memory with a groundbreaking ceremony for a garden. The garden will be located between the Prakken and the Alumni Buildings, very close to the location of our original building, "Old Main."

Students from the ornamental horticulture program will design the garden, and will be participate in the ceremony.

Refreshments will be served after the groundbreaking.
