As authorized by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees, the Labor Relations Office directs the University's collective bargaining activities pursuant to Michigan's Public Employment Relations Act (PERA). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: negotiation of agreements with recognized bargaining units, addressing grievances and employee complaints, providing guidance regarding contract interpretation and dealing with employees issues, training employees on employment-related issues, and promoting labor/management cooperation in the workplace.
