“AFRICARIBE" Ensemble
Come and join us in an educational presentation by "AFRICARIBE".
AfriCaribe was created in 2000 by Evaristo “Tito” Rodriguez in an effort to create an organization in Chicago that would have the unique intent of celebrating the African influence in Puerto Rico and other countries of the Caribbean.

Black History 101 Mobile Museum
Khalid el-Hakim, FSU Alum and Founder of the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, will bring his nationally exposed exhibit to Ferris State University. The Museum is a collection of over 1,500 artifacts that span the African-American experience.
Khalid el-Hakim is a teacher from Detroit and a proud Ferris State University Alum.This exhibit is free and open to the public, everyone is invited.

5th Annual Fulbright Foreign Lecture: "Through the Squalls of Hate: Emotional Barriers to Peace" Dr. Eran Halperin, Tel Aviv, Israel
Plan now to attend this year's 15th anniversary of the annual Fulbright Foreign Lectures at FSU. This year's speaker, Dr. Eran Halperin, is a Fulbright Scholar from Israel who is currently serving a post-doc in the Department of Psychology, Stanford University. He is also a research fellow in the Stanford Center on International Conflict and Negotiation.
Dr. Halperin has a B.A in Political Science and Psychology, an M.A. in Political Science and a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Haifa. His work integrates psychological and political theories and methods in order to explain different aspects of inter-group relations and conflicts. His main line of research focuses on the role of negative emotions in conflicts and conflict resolution.
We especially invite FSU students and the entire campus community. This lecture is open to the public as well and is a free event, supported by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Ferris Fulbrighters. Details of this event will be publicized including the lecture room location. Watch for other 15th Anniversary Ferris Fulbrighters events during the week of October 20-23, 2008.
