Computer
Sophistication Survey
In addition to current initiatives and the research conducted
by the Ferris State University Partnership for Career Decision-Making,
in Summer 2001 the University conducted a statewide survey of
Michigan high-school juniors and seniors to assess their views
of computers and the sophistication of their computer skills.
The survey found that while the vast majority of students are
very confident in their computer abilities, when asked about
specific computer applications, most are comfortable with Internet
and email usage, rather than business functions.
