Ferris State University and Lansing-based research firm Public Sector Consultants joined forces in Summer 2001 to respond to a request for proposal issued by the Michigan Department of Career Development for a complete assessment of the department and its offerings, as well as recommendations regarding implementation of programs and marketing strategies statewide. 

The contract for the assessment was awarded to the Ferris and PSC in August and was completed in Spring 2002.
