How can I estimate the expenses my student and I will incur for the upcoming
academic year?
Yearly expenses
can be calculated by the following: tuition, room and board, books, supplies,
and miscellaneous expenses. For the 2007-08 academic year the approximate cost
for an in-state student living in on-campus housing and eating in the dining
centers would be roughly $19,000 for two semesters.

Are on-campus banking facilities available?
Students wishing
to open a new
Huntington
account may do so at the
Student
Service Center
during summer orientation, or at the local Big Rapids Huntington Branch,
activating the debit card features of a new Bulldog identification card. The new
card allows students to receive student aid refunds electronically and to have
direct deposit of their Ferris State University paychecks. Students also will
benefit from a no-fee checking account, immediate access to financial aid
refunds, full service ATM's operating 24 hours a day and the ability to complete
banking transactions on-line through Huntington's Web bank. The card can be used
at local merchants with debit-card capabilities. Future plans include the use of
the ATM to sell tickets to campus events, and to transfer monies due on student
accounts.

How are students billed for college costs?
Students have two options to pay their tuition & room and
board charges at the beginning of the semester. Students can
pay the full balance of the charges that are due approximately
one week before classes begin each semester; or they can
choose to pay 50% a week before classes, 25% by the
middle of the month following the beginning semester, and the final
25% by the middle of the third month of the
semester. (There is a $20 deferred payment charge for this
option.) Students receive a monthly statement either at their
local address, or if they designate, their home address. This
statement would indicate charges they had for long distance
phone service, special events or tuition charges.
In order to register for the next semester, the student’s
account balance must be below $150. |
