Mission Statement:
The mission of Business Operations at Ferris State University is to provide outstanding individualized customer service to our students, their families, faculty, and fellow staff members. This is achieved by providing diversified and innovative services and policies that ensure financial responsibility while preserving the dignity of our customers. As a unified community, we are committed to our belief that Ferris State University is a great place to study, teach, and work.
The Business Office is a department of the Finance Division and includes the following units:
- Cashiering and Student Accounting
- Student Service Center
- Loan Disbursements
- Outside Scholarships and Third Party Contracts
- Collections
Customer service provided by the Business Office includes:
- Collecting and processing all university transactions applicable to FSU student accounts (e.g., tuition, fees, housing, meals, etc), accounts receivable charges and departmental deposits;
- Processing Financial Aid and other student account related refunds for FSU students;
- Handling the Federal Perkins loan (except the awarding), emergency and tuition promissory note programs, third party billings and collections on most accounts receivables (i.e., holds) for FSU.
