Creating
Web Pages
Though some flexibility is necessary, consistency in graphic content
conveys the correct image of FSU. To keep Web pages uniform,
each area of the University has its own Web Content Coordinator
for copy and Web developer for design. They are responsible
for updating page contents and creating new pages through
the use of templates. They are your resources for creating
Web pages. Consult your Deans or Vice President's office
to identify the experts in your area.
Graphic
Standards
- Uniformity
across the Web site can be ensured through the use of approved
page templates and graphics.
- The
correct University signature lines, symbols and colors should
also be used. These are also available from the Web Content
Manager.
- The
Web Content Manager is available to assist in creating pages
and to review Web pages.
Policy
Graphic
standards may not apply to all Web pages created or maintained
by FSU students, faculty or staff. Some Web pages are meant
for academic or informational purposes not associated with
the image FSU presents to the public. Examples include the
Torch (student paper), budget reports (on-line spreadsheets,
etc.) and academic journals of faculty.
To
be exempt from graphic standards, Web pages must be created
for academic purposes, either as a hands-on project for students
or for an academic section of the Web site. If Web pages
are part of the campus Intranet (or with a primary target
audience of current students, faculty and staff), they are
exempt.
Web
design standards may not apply to FSU Web publications devoted
to special events or services that contain graphic components
closely tied to a specific design theme.
