The typefaces chosen to complement the Ferris State University signature are Avenir and Times. Avenir is a sans serif typeface and Times is a serif typeface. Generally speaking, Avenir is used for headlines or callouts and Avenir or Times for body copy. Both fonts are used in all University stationery components. However, you do not need to purchase these fonts for your internal or routine communications. If you do not have Avenir, you may substitute Helvetiva or Arial. If you do not have Times, you may substitute Times New Roman. Where possible and practical, Avenir and Times are to be used in Ferris State University publications and long-form items.
