Highlights of Ferris State University's graphic standards
- The Ferris State University signature line with the flame logo will remain the primary graphic identifier for Ferris State University and should not be altered.
- The tagline Imagine More can be used beneath the signature line in promotional applications, such as advertising, alumni and community outreach, and student recruitment. It can also be freestanding.
- Unleash Your Potential should no longer be used with the signature line, but can be used as a headline or in body text.
- The Ferris State University signature line, with or without the flame logo (depending on available space), must appear on publications representing Ferris State University and in all advertising that promotes the University. It must be the dominant graphic mark and should not be combined with other graphic marks.
- While individual University units may have their own logos developed, this is not recommended. Multiple logos can be confusing to audiences and do not provide the continued repetition of integrated marketing. Use co-branded signature lines.
- The bulldog logo is primarily intended for use by athletics, admissions, alumni, and student activities when presenting a more casual image of the University is appropriate. The flame logo and primary Ferris State University signature line should be used in other instances.
- The official colors of Ferris State University are crimson and gold (referred to as Ferris Red and Ferris Gold in the guidelines). These are the approved colors that should be used in all University communications and other applications, such as signage, clothing and promotional items. The deeper red or maroon is not Ferris' official school color and should not be used in place of Ferris Red unless it is absolutely unavoidable (i.e., material is not available in Ferris Red or a close variation of it). Please apply these color guidelines to new Ferris State University communications and promotional products.
- A Ferris State University Web site header has been developed to reflect the new graphic standards. Uniformity across the Web site through the use of consistent headers, navigation, page layouts and correct application of University signature lines, logos and colors will foster a cohesive, recognizable identity for the University.
- A new stationery system (letterhead, business cards and envelopes) for Ferris State University has been designed and is a key component of the identity system. The consistent use of layout, design and typeface will establish continuity and present a professional, unified appearance. Please do not purchase new materials, but instead phase these in as current supplies become depleted and it is time to re-order.
- A PowerPoint template adhering to the new graphic standards is available for Ferris State University presentations.
