Instructions for Dean's Approval Checklist

The Deans of the colleges are responsible for reviewing grant proposals from their units before they can be approved by the Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs and Administration and Finance for final submission.  The Dean's Approval Checklist will guide you through a series of questions designed to assess the contractual soundness of the grant proposal.  The questions will help you decide if your college can afford to support this proposal, and how to determine its value to your college and to Ferris State University.  If you have been working with your faculty PI since the conception of his/her proposal, this review should not present any surprises.  Instead, this review should be a final confirmation of work that you have developed together.

HOW TO FILL OUT THE DEAN'S APPROVAL CHECKLIST:

Electronic submission is preferred. Send an email to each of the above personnel including your form as a document attachment.
Otherwise, send one copy of your form to each of the above personnel through the mail.

  6. Remember that the Dean's Approval Checklist needs to be given to the Vice Presidents before they can put their signatures on proposals to be submitted.  Therefore, make sure that the Dean's Checklist reaches the Vice Presidents at least three days before the actual proposal needs to be in their hands.
