Yearly Administrative Review
Status of the Yearly Administrative Review
With the implementation of TracDat at Ferris beginning in the summer of 2008, the former approach to the Yearly Administrative Review was suspended. In its place, Colleges and programs are required to keep their assessment plans, unit information, assessment results, and learning improvement action plans updated at least annually within the TracDat system. On June 15 of each calendar year, a report of the status of these plans and results will be produced as the institution’s official record of each program’s activities. Therefore, the YARs, as they were known, are no longer a Ferris process. The first report will be produced on June 15, 2009.
The Purpose of Yearly Administrative Review is:
- to facilitate a process led by the deans and department heads/chairs to assess and evaluate programs under their supervision
- to facilitate long term planning and recommendations to the VPAA
- to collect and analyze information that will be useful in the University’s accreditation efforts; Academic Program Review deliberation; and assessment.
This assessment instrument is completed annually.
