Creating A Depth of Assessment Knowledge through Book Study

The Department of Languages and Literature is increasing faculty depth of understanding concerning assessment by including Promoting Integrated and Transformative Assessment: A Deeper Focus on Student Learning by Catherine M. Wehlburg as a book in their reading group. As part of faculty development, faculty members of the department at least once a year read and discuss a book related to their field. This Spring 09 semester they selected a book on assessment. There are assigned dates for specific chapters. In response to the readings, faculty will participate in online and face to face discussions. Approximately 13 members of the department will be taking part in this discussion.
