What is the American Democracy Project (ADP)?
The American Democracy Project (ADP) is a collaborative effort of the American
Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and The New York Times to invigorate
civic responsibility and engagement among American college and university
students. Currently, there are over 200 American universities involved with ADP
serving approximately 1.8 million students. The ADP strives to motivate young
adults to actively participate in our democracy – a system of government, in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation
usually involving periodically held free elections (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).
