Support Pillars
Support Pillars are usually cylindrical and function if to "Support" the Support Plate and B side of the mold.  The pillars attempt to eliminate and warping of the plates under injection pressure, which will possible create "Flash on the part and or runner system.

Stop Pins
Stop Pins are placed between the bottom of the ejector plate and the top portion of the ejector housing bottom plate.  The function is to reduce the contact between the plates.  This will help eliminate any possibility of the ejector sub-assembly not returning to its fully "home" position.  The pins also reduces the possibility of rust developing and causing freezing of the ejector sub-assembly from proper movement, due to mold storage.
