ESRI User Conference Proceedings Archive. Excellent site for papers presented at ESRI's User Conferences.

Geographic Information Science. Lecture notes by S. Ahearn discussing, in part, spatial analysis, cartographic modeling, spatial data models, spatial analysis, spatial arrangement, and GIS design.

GIS Overview. This site is written by G. Ritter & M. Schmaly and contains sections on the history, applications, organization, software and analysis tools, map projections, mad databases (with a number of links), and image libraries.

Introduction to GIS. From the Kinston Centre for GIS. The site has an overview of GIS along with a glossary and list of acronyms.

National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis. This is the home page of the NCGIA research consortium with links to the diffrent activities undertaken by the group. These activities include a GIS Core Curriculum and web-based papers on GIS research undertaken by the Center and funded through the National Research Council.

Spatial Odyssey, GIS Literature Database, University of Maine/NCGIA. Site allows the user to search and retrieve papers on GIS topic areas.

GIS Development Issues:

GIS Development Guides. This site contains 3 volumes including a manager's overview, needs assessment and conceptual design; survey of available data, evaluating hardware & software, etc., and; acquisition of GIS hardware and software, applications development, etc.

Implementation of a GIS for a Small Local Government Entity. Paper by John Donoghue II discussing the implementing of a GIS for the Inland Empire West Resource Conservation District, California.

Legal Issues in GIS:

Copyright Law. This site contains Title 17 of the U.S. Code pertaining to Copyright.

EPIC.ORG. Electronic Privacy information Center. This is a public interest grou0p focusing on the First Amendment. Besides privacy, the site contains links to other information like cryptography and freedom of information.

Ethical Issues in Electronic Information Systems. Part of the Geographer's Craft Project written by M. Lynch. Discusses common ediquette, copyright, access, privancy, and a number of other issues.

Freedom of Information Act by the Legal Services Corporaton (LSC) with links to a FOIA faq and LSC FOIA reports.

Freedom of Information Act. Using the Freedom of Information Act, A Step-by-step Guide by the American Civil Liberties Union.

Georgia GIS Clearinghouse. This site has a number of links to pages on the Georia GIS. Documents available also include GIS standards and guidelines, policy statement for statewide GIS activities, and NSDI node implementation.

City of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. This site contains very useful information from the city GIS Department. It discusses their application planning, implementation strategies, schedule of fees, and links to other useful department information.

Kentucky home page on emerging technologies - GIS. This site dsisusses development in the market, initiatives deployed in Kentucky, potential emerging technology applications in Kentucky, and implementation considerations.

Minnesota Land Management Information Center. Home page for the GIS in the state. Contains a number of links including documents, standards, EPPL7, clearinghouse, etc.

New York State GIS Clearinghouse. Site designed to disseminate information about New York's statewide GIS Coordination Program and provide access to data and metadata.

Oakland County, MI, Enterprise GIS. Site discusses the GIS program implemented in Oakland County, MI.

United Nations, Economic Commission for Europe Statistical Division's web site. Technical Aspects of GIS:

AI-Geostats: The Central Served for GIS and Spatial Statistics on the Internet. The site is maintained by G. Dubois and has links to geostatistical FAQs, on-line papers, software, etc.

Chain codes. Lecture 7 - Efficient Storage of Lines. Discusses storing chains and hwo chain codes can be applied to data based on Unit 31 from the NCGIA Core Curriculum in GIS. Compiled with assistance from David Douglas.

Delaunay Triangulation. Site by D. Eppstein contains links to a number of sites pertaining to Delaunay triangulation.

Delaunay Triangulation. Link to a pdf format technical report "Improved Incremental Randomized Delaunay Triangulation" by O. Devillers. The report proposes a new data structure to compute the Dalaunay triangulation by combining good worst case complexities, fast behavior on real data, and small memory occupation.

Delaunay Triangulation. This page links to a paper "Fast and Simple Triangle Strip Generation" by D. Kornmann (in pdf format). This paper proposes a new approach to generating triangle strips based on local analysis of the triangles.

Fractal Geometry Fractal geometry - Introduction by Harold Brochmann. Consists of a series of articles on fractal geometry including, in part, dimensionality, self-similarity, and applications.

Fractal Geometry Chaos Theory, Dynamic Systems and Fractal Geometry by Tyeler Quentmeyer. This home page has links to the topics of this article. The fractals page gives a simple explanation, discussed fractal dimension, calculating the fractal dimension, and shows different specific fractals.

Fractal Geometry. The Fractal Microscope is an interactive tool designed by the Education Group at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) for exploring the Mandelbrot set and other fractal patterns. The program is designed to run in conjunction with NCSA imaging tools such as DataScope and Collage. With this program students can enjoy the art of mathematics as they master the science of mathematics. This focus can help one address a wide variety of topics in the K-12 curriculum including scientific notation, coordinate systems and graphing, number systems, convergence, divergence, and self-similarity.

Fractal Geometry. This document discusses the basic ideas of fractal geometry with a brief introduction to the ideas involved in a so-called ``fractal dimension'', and methods for computing this quantity. Standard examples are used to illustrate the ideas. Several current areas of research in the application of fractal geometry are then discussed.

Fractals from the Math Archives, Topics in Mathematics - Fractals. Site contains a large number of links to sites pertaining to fractal geometry. The sites are identified by their level of presentation, Java enhancement, images, animation/movies, and links.

Qhull. This site contains the program QHULL that is used to compute the convex hull and Delaunay triangulation. This program is from the University fo Minnesota.

Quadtrees and Scan Orders Unit 057 - Quadtrees and scan orders. This is a part of the NCGIA Core Curriculum in GIS. Written by Michael Goodchild.

Run Encoding, Scan Order Lecture 11 - Raster Storage. Based on Unit 35 of the 1990 NCGIA Core Curriculum in GIS, compiled with assistance from Donna Peuquet. Discusses, in part, scan order, run encoding, and decoding scan order.

Voronoi Diagrams. This site is by C. Gold and it called the Voronoi Web Site. It includes tutorials, applications, implementation, and theory of Voronoi diagrams.

Voronoi Diagrams. Excerpt from "The Algorithm Design Manual". This site describes Voronoi diagrams with links to implementation and related problems.

Voronoi Diagram/Delaunay Triangulation Applet. This applet shows how the Voronoi diagram and Delaunay triangulation are formed from input of point by the user. The site is maintained by P. Chew.
