LEICA WORKSHOP
On January 17, 2002, Leica Geosystems conducted a seminar at Ferris State University. Guests included both students and faculty in the Surveying Engineering Department and surveying practitioners in the West Michigan area. The purpose of this seminar is to have participants understand how they can minimize the systematic errors in the field and account for the random errors remaining in their survey.
The two speakers were Jim Reed and Richard Sauve II. Jim is a Product Specialist at Leica Geosystems who has presented numerous talks on how equipment is manufactured and the care and proper running of survey instrumentation. Rick is a graduate from the Surveying program at Ferris and is the Michigan Technical Representative for Leica Geosystems. He has been working in the GPS area for almost two decades now.
