Making an Appointment at the Writing Center
To make an appointment at the Writing Center, call ext. 2534 or see our receptionist at 1017 Arts and Science Commons. A standard appointment is 30 minutes; longer sessions may be available on request. Your appointment may be for one time or for the same day and time every week all semester. Unless told otherwise, we will assume your appointment is for every week.
We also offer walk-in tutoring. Come to the Writing Center during walk-in times, sign the waiting list, and the first available tutor will work with you. Walk-in tutoring is available from 11-12 Tuesdays and Thursdays; other walk-in times vary by semester. You must sign in and wait in the Writing Center to be tutored. Please be aware that if the waiting list is long, all persons on it may not be seen. To be sure a tutor will be available, it's best to make a scheduled appointment.
Our Appointment Policy
- If you are not able to attend a scheduled appointment, you must call us in advance and cancel, or we will remove your name from our appointment book.
- If you call and cancel, we will hold your appointment for you, unless you cancel on two consecutive appointments in which case we will erase your name. We do this so that other students can get a chance to work with us.
