Desktop Computer

Ferris State University recommends the following minimum requirements for the purchase of a new desktop computer:

Intel Pentium 4 w/ HT Technology or AMD equivelent
At least 512 megabytes (MB) (1 GB is strongly recommended)
At least 80 gigabytes (GB) hard drive
CD-RW or CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive
Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or some other compatible pointing device
Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (1024x768) or higher resolution
Onboard Network Interface Card at least 10/100 (10/100/1000 recommended)

Notebook Computers

Ferris State University recommends the following minimum requirements for the purchase of a new laptop computer:

Intel Pentium 4 M 2.8 GHz or Intel Core Duo 1.4 Ghz
At least 512 megabytes (MB) (1 GB is strongly recommended
At least 40 gigabytes (GB) hard drive
CD-RW/DVD Drive
On board Network Interface Card (NIC) and integrated wireless
