Laser color and black & white printing is available from the public computer workstations within FLITE. The cost is 10 cents per page for black & white and 50 cents per page for color. You will need to use a debit card. Coins are not accepted at the print stations. Directions for printing are below. If you have any questions, call the TAC at (231) 591-4822. Directions for Black & White Printing

  1. Choose the print function in the software you are using. In Microsoft Office choose "File" then "Print." Using the printer icon bypasses a screen that allows you to select a printer.




  2. Make sure the name of the printer is: HP Laserjet 4100 PS. If it isn't use the drop down menu to change the printer selection.




  3. Choose which pages to print and number of copies you need as you usually would, then click "OK."




  4. Enter your name and a password into the PHAROS Popup Client.




  5. Note: You will need the password to retrieve your job at the print station.
  6. Your job can be printed at one of the four black & white print stations. There are two in the first floor "Info Commons Area," one on second floor and one in the extended study area.

Directions for Color Printing

IMPORTANT NOTE: Color printers take some time to warm up. Check the printer to see if it has been warmed up first. If it has, skip to step two.

  1. Press the green button on the printer to warm the printer up. This may take up to 8 minutes.
  2. Choose the print function in the software you are using. In Microsoft Word or Excel choose "File" then "Print." Using the printer icon bypasses a screen that allows you to select a printer.




  3. Make sure the name of the printer is: HP Color Laserjet 4550 PS. If it isn't use the drop down menu to change the printer selection.




  4. Choose which pages to print and number of copies you need as you usually would, then click "OK."




  5. Enter your name and a password into the PHAROS Popup Client.




  6. Note: You will need the password to retrieve your job at the print station.
  7. Your job can be printed at the Color Print Station on the first floor.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Color printers take some time to warm up. It could be six to eight minutes before your first page prints. The remaining pages will print faster.
