Residence Hall Lab Rules
The following rules were developed by STS to ensure that the residence hall computer labs are serving the students as they were intended and not monopolized by any one group or individual. Furthermore, because these labs are heavily utilized, some of these rules help ensure that equipment is properly maintained. If you experience any problems in the lab, and an RNT is present, please speak to him/her regarding your concerns. Otherwise you may contact STS or call us at x2556.
- Instructional needs always take precedence.
- Internet games are not allowed during the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
- Pornographic web sites are forbidden.
- Always clean up your area when done.
- Never bring food or drinks into the lab.
- Report any machine problems to the RNT or contact STS at X2556.
- Always log off the machine you're using before leaving the lab.
- You are responsible for any damage to the machine you are using.
- You are responsible for any e-mail sent from your ID if you fail to log off the machine before leaving the lab.
- Never share your login ID's or passwords with anyone.
- Always be considerate of your fellow residents.
- The hall staff and RNT's have the right to request you leave the lab at any time.
- Misuse of the labs can result in disciplinary action and being barred from using the labs in the future.
- Only the resident assigned a key to the lab, from the front desk, may be in the lab. Friends are not to be in the lab without permission from the desk, and then they may only be in there to help the student assigned a key. They may not use another computer in the lab.
