Connecting to the Network with a Windows PC from Big Rapids Main Campus Only!
From your Residence Hall and other On-Campus Places.

Ferris State University 's network has been bombarded with viruses. In an effort to combat this, Ferris is taking a proactive approach. How is Ferris becoming more proactive? Ferris is issuing Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10.1.5 FREE of charge to all of its students whether they are on campus or off-campus. This Antivirus client will give the student FREE Antivirus updates for as long as they have the product installed on their pc. You do not have to be on the Ferris network to receive these free updates. At the current moment ALL resident students are required to have this Antivirus in order to connect to the internet and the campus network. Other labs and workstations on campus, such as the library, will be doing this soon. Another item you must have is Cisco Clean Access. With Clean Access you will need to login to the campus network using your MyFSU username and password. Finally, Ferris requires on-campus students to download and install the Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) This program will allow your computer to automatically receive Microsoft Windows Updates.
