B.S. Applied Mathematics
Rochester, Michigan
Currently, I am attending Oakland University, in Rochester, Michigan, for my M.A. in Applied Statistics, where I am also a teaching assistant. However, I know that I would not be where I am right now without the opportunities that the Honors Program offered me while I was at Ferris.
The cultural events that I attended helped me to realize that although there are activities that I may not enjoy, I should support those who do enjoy them. The community service that I performed assisted me in understanding that helping others is what I like to do. And through the Honors Program classes, I learned the speaking and communication skills necessary to follow through and not only do what needs to get done, but to go above and beyond.
While in the Honors Program, I was also the editor of The Endeavor, which was a wonderful opportunity that gave me something tangible to say that I contributed to the Honors Program. I learned from all the time spent editing and organizing my wonderful team of writers that I was honing leadership skills that would last me a lifetime. Being able to take these skills into the classroom with me has made me more confident in classes that I teach.
