Screening of the film “Seven Passages” followed by a discussion with Reverend Jim Lucas.   This film is an adaptation of the 2007 Play “Seven Passages: The Stories of Gay Christians” written by Stephanie Sandberg, Professor at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. The film presents interpretations of the seven Bible passages frequently referenced in discussions of homosexuality. The play was based on Sandberg’s ethnographic interviews of over 100 gay and lesbian people from the West Michigan area.   Will be held mid October.  Date, time, and location TBA. Please watch for updates on University Wide Notices.

Screening of the film “Inlaws & Outlaws” followed by a Q & A discussion with Seattle based director Drew Emory. Inlaws & Outlaws is an award winning film that cleverly weaves together the true stories of couples and singles — both gay and straight — into a collective narrative that is as hilarious as it is heartbreaking. At the top of the film, you meet real people one on one. You don’t know who’s gay or straight or who’s with whom. As their stories unfold and stereotypes fall by the wayside, you won’t care because you’ll be rooting for everybody.  Will be held late October.  Date, time, and location TBA.   Please watch for updates on University Wide Notices.
