SURE 325 - Principles of GIS

PURPOSE:        To introduce the student to the basics of Site Selection.

PROCEDURE: Complete Lesson 8 from the ArcView GIS Exercise Book. 

CONCLUSION: Write a short description of the procedures employed in this lab.  Describe the modules used and their purpose in general form.  Answer the Discussion Topics at the end of the lesson.

Print out the final layout. Additionally, answer the following questions

1. How does the dot size and number of dots affect the readers perception of the map data?
2. Describe the spatial relation types available within ArcView to select features in one theme by using features in another.
3. What is a spatial join? How is it performed?
4. Describe the spatial analysis operations available within ArcView.
