Surveying Engineering Student Participation at the
2004 ACSM Conference
Nashville, TN

Students participated in the annual ACSM Student competition along with working at the conference for ACSM.  The Ferris taping team consisted of Chad Schaeding, Elizabeth Chesla, Joseph Stuart, and Robert Scheerer.  Using conventional taping methods, the group was able to measure the distance set by a total station to 0.01', the closest among all 7 competing schools.

The judge, David Ingram, checking out his calculations in the left picture and the students receiving instructions in the right picture.  The competition took place below the state capital in Renaissance Park.
