A Listserv is an email
software program that allows you to subscribe to an electronic mailing
list, in this case the Phi Alpha list. Mailing Lists are email-based
discussion groups. Each member that is subscribed to a particular mailing
list receives a copy of every message sent to that list via email.
Likewise, every message you email to this list is distributed to every
person who is currently signed onto the list.
To subscribe to the Phi Alpha mailing list
go through the following steps:
•Open your preferred email program, (i.e. Outlook, Lotus Notes, Hotmail,
AOL, Yahoo!Mail, etc.)
•Address your message to: listar@libun2.ferris.edu
•In the message area, (Not the subject line. Leave that blank) type in the
words:
subscribe phialpha and send the email.
This will add you to the Phi Alpha Honor Society national listserv, which
is intended for social work students and faculty involved in Phi Alpha to
facilitate more timely and efficient communication.
From that point
on, messages that you send to phialpha@libun2.ferris.edu
will be distributed to everyone else currently subscribed to the list.
If for some reason you wish to be removed from this listserv simply send
an email to the same listar@libun2.ferris.edu address and put the word
unsubscribe in the body of the message. This will automatically remove you
from the list.
If you have any questions, email me at berghoef@ferris.edu Enjoy!
