2008 Conference Highlights

The Student Poster Board Competition

 Poster Board Design Requirements

  • Tri-fold, 36" H x 48" W, free standing poster board.  A model with these dimensions may be seen in the front entrance lobby of the FLITE library.
  • The Michigan Energy Conference logo must be prominent on the poster board.  A downloadable copy of the logo is linked on the left side of this page.
  • Background can be any color.
  •   The paper on the poster board should be organized so that it is clear, orderly, logical and self-explanatory. 
  • The abstract/introduction must be in the upper left corner and the conclusion in the lower right corner.
  • The abstract/introduction must summarize the main content of the poster.
  •   Lettering for titles must be readable from at least 6 feet away.

o   Title should be placed prominently at the top of the poster board.

  • Letters fer text must be readable from at least 4 feet away.

o   Double space all text.

o   Use left justification.

  • Do not use abbreviations that are not known to all.
  •   Do not use abbreviations that are not known to all.
  • Words must run left to right.
  • The same typeface (e.g., Ariel, Garamond, Lucida, Verdana, etc.) must be used throughout.  Fonts (e.g., regular, bold, italic) may vary.
  • Construct easy-to-interpret graphs and tables for information and comparisons.
  • Colored paper may be used to frame printed sheets.
  • No computers will be allowed at your display.
