Faculty Advisor: Diane Fleming

The Association of Future Educators organization has been on campus for about twenty years. The organization began as an affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NAEYC. When the national affiliate requirements changed, the organization changed names. Some projects students have done in the past in this organization include:

  • Attending teaching workshops with Tot's Place staff
  • Collecting children's books to donate to a Headstart Library
  • Collecting money donations for Tot's Place
  • Collecting toy donations for a women's shelter
  • Having a float in the Ferris homecoming parade
  • Having a pizza party
  • Having a raffle to raise money to attend the MiAEYC conference in Grand Rapids
  • Providing evening childcare for parents to go holiday shopping
  • Selling calendars with children's photos
