Diversity Planning

Building upon an Old Testament Proverb, William Drummond, a 17th Century Scottish poet, wrote, "Iron sharpens iron; scholar, the scholar."
It is with this familiar adage in mind that we make available to you for your review and comment a working draft of the Strategic Plan of the Diversity Planning Committee.
We are working hard to draft a plan that we believe will lead our Institution to becoming a place where individual and group differences are respected, honored, and celebrated. Yet, we recognize that we are a small subset of a much larger University community that is rich with intellectual insights, profound past experiences, and notable goals and hopes for the future. We wish to draw upon all of these insights, experiences, goals, and hopes. Thus, we invite your comments, suggestions, and criticisms as a way to develop and sharpen the plan that will guide each of us as we work toward creating a Ferris State University that embraces, infuses, and celebrates diversity as one of its core values.
