Office 2007

Software media can be checked out at the CSS (old Timme library) building for home installation.  For those who are interested in installing this software on your office PC, please call the TAC (x4822) and submit a request. 

Considerations after installing Office 2007: 

The native file extension for 2007 have changed since the release of Office 2003.  Meaning that unless special steps are taken, an Office 2007 document cannot be opened by a PC running Office 2003 or earlier.

For those who are not ready to switch over to Office 2007 there is a converter that can be installed which will allow you to open Office 2007 documents from Office 2003 and earlier.  To have this installed please submit a work order request to the TAC (x4822).

 

Committee reviewing campus standard for eInstructional equipment for classrooms

The committee is comprised of technicians as well as faculty to discuss the needs to recommend a standard for campus use.   The review selections have been narrowed down to CPS and TurningPoint.  Some considerations are needing to incorporate with WebCT Vista, Powerpoint, support and overall cost to the university.
