MCO Contact Lens Resident Receives National Travel Grant more

Bassima Al-delaiganDr. Bassima Al-delaigan, OD, was elected by the Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies Section as a recipient for the American Academy of Optometry Cornea and Contact Lens Travel Grant. This year Bausch & Lomb has provided 18 travel grants in the amount of $750 each to the Academy meeting in Orlando.  Dr. Al-delaigan will attend the Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies Section Reception on Friday evening, November 13th, in order to receive her award.

 Dr. Al-delaigan is the current Cornea and Contact Lens resident at MCO. She received her Bachelor of Optometry at King Suad University, Optometry division. She then worked in a tertiary eye hospital, King Khaled Eye Hospital, in Ridyadh, Saudi Arabia for five years, the last two as a contact lens specialist with emphasis on keratoconic lens fitting.  She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston.  Dr. Al-delaigan is a member of the AOA, and is very interested in contact lens fitting and teaching.  In her free time she enjoys going to the gym and is interested in learning more about baseball and football.
