Industrial Chemistry Technology

Course Requirements

Students in the industrial chemistry technology program are trained in general, organic, analytical and instrumental chemistry. In addition, specialty classes focus on the chemical industry, safety issues and statistical process control. All classes are taught by faculty with many years of experience in industrial chemistry.

The Ferris State industrial chemistry technology program is accredited by the American Chemical Society, one of only a few such programs in America so accredited.

Admission Requirements

Ferris State University offers a rolling enrollment policy, allowing most serious-minded students entry into a college. First-year student eligibility: minimum 2.0 overall high school grade point average and a minimum ACT math subscore of 19. Transfer students: a minimum 2.0 overall college grade point average and a "C or better grade in math preparatory for FSU MATH 115.

Graduation Requirements

The industrial chemistry technology program leads to an associate in applied science degree. Graduation requires a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average. Graduates must complete all general education requirements as outlined in the General Education section of the University Catalog as well as all industrial chemistry technology program course work.

At Ferris, students may qualify for some form of financial aid, including scholarships, grants-in-aid, long-term loans or part-time employment. The University annually awards more than $40 million in total student aid.
